What do you think of train travel as a means of getting to your holiday destination?
It all depends on where you're going. I love the trains in Europe, and they're also excellent in Japan and South Korea. I hate train travel in most of the USA because of the delays, limited service and old equipment. Train travel in Switzerland is just plain super!
:-) i adore trains and railways, and i always happy to travel by train.
But it depends of many details: your time limitations, where (Countries) you plan to travel, how much you dependent of comfort, money issue, and many many others.
From my 2010-2011 train expirience - German and Austrian trains were perfect, in Romania it was interesting expirience.
Earlier (years ago) I travelled by train in Europe and former USSR - each time it was another expirience, but, saying once again - i adore trains so I enjoy it in any case :-)
Easetrn European trains.... Slow, usually dirty, take ages to get anywhere - and just great.
