we only have 3 days so we would like to be close to everything and we are not fancy but we do not want a room with bedbugs UCK. Please help
Where should we stay???????????????
Hey Bibbmon,
Before members will really be able to give you an answer, your time frame would be great information. Yes, I realize you have 3 days but what time of year? Are you going to be there tomorrow or March or August?
Also, a majority of our members are either traveling or working regular jobs. They need a bit more than 3 hours to find your thread and respond. I do not mean to come off as sarcastic. Not my intent at all. But, considering the diversity of this site - some answers can take a few days.
The more information that you can provide will aid in a receiving a more timely reply. Having not been to San Francisco, I can not help you. I'm sure someone else will. But, they need to know your time frame if nothing else.
Thanks for your help I have not used the site before My Husband and mayself and my best friend will arrive on March 4 and leave early on March 8th so we just have 3 days to see the most important sites. Please any recomondations would be appreciated. Thinking of staying in the Fishermans warf area but not know where we should stay. What area would be good for daytime sightseeing, without breaking the bank. Thanks again any help I would be thankfull.
Fisherman's Wharf is a little far from the action in SF. I like the little boutique hotels on Lower Nob Hill - along Bush St. from Stockton to Jones are several little places that you would probably like:
PETITE AUBERGE
WHITE SWAN INN
HOTEL JULIANA
VINTAGE COURT
If you insist on the Wharf, the Argonaut is quite good too.
I have checked these out thanks for you info any other suggestions is the Nob Hill area close to places we might visit
Daawgon is one of the most knowledgeable people on this site and makes great suggestions on where to stay.
The most likely places you will want to visit will be located in a long strand that runs from near the Embarcadero/Little Italy area to near the northern area (Marina/Fisherman's Wharf/Palace of Fine Arts/Golden Gate Park) area or near the Union Square area (Union Square/Chinatown/Financial District).
Nob Hill is a very good choice for the fact that it is just west or south or north of all of these areas (think of Nob Hill as being like the middle of a wheel with the spokes stretching out to the other areas--but all of the spokes being fairly short relative to other possible spots to stay).
The other thing about being in the Nob Hill area is that it is almost the tallest hill in San Francisco--and thus--if you stay in a hotel here and either look out the window or walk outside, you can see most of the main parts of town.

What is the weather going to be like this weekend we will be arriving tomorow night? is it raining?
Forecast is for Cloudy but fairly warm (60 degrees) on Saturday with 50% chance of rain (80% on Saturday night), Sunday the same, overcast also on Monday and Tuesday with 40% chance of rain on Monday, but only 10% Tuesday (should clear finally on Tuesday afternoon) and then be sunny on Wednesday.
I'm heading to Washington DC on Tuesday through Thursday to interview for a new job--and it is clear there and about 60 degrees until Thursday afternoon when I leave, so I'll actually have better weather than you (very odd for early March)
