My husband and I will be visiting Europe for the first time later in the year (I think late Aug/early Sept - bit hard to tell as its part of a RTW trip so everything is a bit fluid!). We plan to spend a total of 3 weeks visiting Austria and Italy but are having trouble figuring out a budget. We would like to stay in private rooms, but don't mind if they're in hostels. Can anyone who's spent time in these countries advise us? Any other useful info you can offer?
Have you tried running a few general availability searches through our system? You can search by price, and we break out the price per private room on the city page, so even if you don't end up booking, it can give you a pretty good idea of prices that time of year.
Mind you, we also did some development last year on a way of returning average pricing in a specific month. I think it was pretty much ready to go live, so will see if we can't get that up. It's a pretty useful way of seeing what average prices are like throughout the year per city!!
Where in Austria are you planning to go?
