Here's a list of countries for this year's Canada World Youth exchange. Which of these would you be interested in and why? I'm just trying to get an idea of where I'd be interested in going.
Those are all potentially fascinating destinations offering a plethora of wildly differing cultural experiences.
Whether you'd enjoy one over another depends entirely on your own personal tastes and expectations.

As CheersT says, it's all a matter of personal taste. I've made 4 trips to Vietnam recently, and since I now have friends there, and since it's such a happy place, my pick would have to be Vietnam. No place on Earth is without problems, and Vietnam certainly has a long list (pollution, malaria, unsafe roads).

It's really a matter of personal preference. Also, if you are spending a year there, you'd want a place that's not too small, where you can travel around a bit (Benin is tiny).
My picks would be: Ukraine, Indonesia, South Africa or Peru.
