Hi,
Australia is a very big country. There are going to be tons of things to look at all along the coast from Melbourne to Cairns. More than enough to fill up 3 weeks of travel in any case.
There will be some cleaning up going on in Queensland for sure, but even so there will still be things to see, great beaches to lay about on and wildlife in abundance.
Don't stay away for this reason You'll have a blast!
