A great resource for all things Cambodia is Many GHs listed from $5 fan rooms to $60 a/c deluxe rooms. Pick what area of SR you prefer to stay and check with 'tripadvisor' which ones get good reviews. I stayed at Poular GH, nothing special, but a decent place for the money.
All GHs will have drivers and offer guides. With luck, several others at your GH may have already hired a car/guide for the next day. It is always more fun to share the experience with others. If that does not work, see if your GH can find a tour you can join. I did it on my own. Hired a moto guy at my GH for $8/day. Once at Angkor, I met a little girl, WaNee that offered to guide me around the rocks. I paid little WaNee $8 plus lunch for her help. I had a great time doing that way.
