Thank You and also how to combat travel blues?

Hi Guys,

Rule #1:

Start saving your money and planning your next adventure!!

Rule #2:

Don't pontificate to your friends what an awesome time you had. They stop listening after 20 minutes. (Either think your crazy or are just jealous.)

Rule #3:

Start saving your money and planning your next adventure!!

Yes, I'm serious.

I agree - planning another trip is the only cure for post- holiday blues!

Yeah guys your right!

We were hoping to fit South America into the trip we have done but unfortunately we took a big hit in our budget in Oz. Our camper van got wiped out my a wide load wagon on a narrow bridge. The patrol vehicle was supposed to be 1km in front to give people warning but it was bumper to bumper with the wide load giving us nowhere to go!

The upside we spent more time in S.E.A. and gives us a goal to do South America in a couple of years time.

Top to bottom by motorbike that's the next dream. Stand back Ewan and Charlie. Here comes Kaz and Paddy

Glad to hear the reviews in the budget accommodation area were so helpful in bumming your friends out. There really is no better feeling

I agree with Isadora!! It's funny how many people will just assume that you're independently wealthy (insanely rich) because of your travels.... and they stop listening after 20 minutes, when you could go on for hours and hours...

I think that top to bottom in South America by motorcycle will be AMAZING! I did bottom to top, and then central america, by public transport -- and it was a truly fantastic area of the world. You will enjoy it!!! So to sum up: The best option on how to cure post-travel blues is to sit down and start researching where you'd like to head off to next - and how to save for it!!

If you want to go on about your trip find someone else who got back from doing something similar recently, they are much more prepared to listen to you waffle on!

Starting to plan something else is definitely the best way to get over it....

Yeah Guys your totally right.

I have done my first couple of shifts back at work, so that's the beginning of saving again.

As for friends switching off after 20mins, I totally see that although it's about 10 mins haha except for one new guy at work, he's a traveller and done similar route to us so I have somebody to waffle on to hooray!

I know how hard it can be. Just be careful to be aware of signs of depression. Google "Reverse Culture Shock" and read some of the articles and suggestions.

Here are a few:

Hope this helps!

Agree with all the above! Get planning your next trip, i came back in feb after spending 5 months in SE Asia and Oz. I returened back to work straight away as thought that would help me settle back into relaity, but to be honest its not. So Im just planning my next trip, which will be S America, cant wait!

Good luck on settling back into the real world!
