I am going to Chicago for the first time in October and I would like to know what you locals would recommend for interesting sights (not touristy), Restaurants, museums or unusual cultural gems. What would be a good neighborhood to stay, close to the action, where the hotels don't break the bank? What is the best way to get around the city and is there anything worth checking out in the surrounding areas?
