UK Passport - Malaysian Visa

Just a little worried.. i have booked a one way ticket to Kuala Lumpur from the UK. I hold a UK passport, will i be granted a tourist visa on arrival or do i have to apply before i travel?

You don't need a visa if you are staying for less than 3 months. If you intend to stay longer than this you must obtain a visa before you arrive.

Do you intend to go back home at all? If you intend to retire in Malaysia that requires other documentation.

I think you are required to still have proof of onward travel in the form of a ticket home or to another destination. See link below.

If you intend to fly back to the UK it might be cheaper to have a round trip ticket. Some one way tickets cost the same as round trip tickets. Flying between Singapore, Bangkok, KL and other big cities in this area does not cost that much money. So it might save you money to return to the first city you arrive at for a return home with a round trip ticket. But this does depend on your airline. Do the math!

First check out the requirement of proof of onward travel. Some airlines may not let you leave from the UK without proof of onward travel. Will this be enforced - don't know! Plus you need sufficient funds to support yourself for your time in Malaysia too!
