Hi
Any body got any advise for me?
Thanks
Kerri
Kerrie,
I suggest you start with the travel guides for San Francisco and LA and San Diego and Las Vegas:

Since I have never stayed in a hostel in my life, I can't help you with that--but I can tell you the major things to see (if you are a young woman on a budget) in each of these cities:
San Francisco--Botanical gardens in Golden Gate Park, visit Fisherman's Wharf--particularly the Boudoin Bakery, ride a cable car in San Francisco, see the crookedest street in the world (Lombard, just south of Fisherman's Wharf, visit either the Muir Woods or the redwoods nearby
Los Angeles--stay out of downtown (dicey, ugly area) and go to the coastline cities (my favorites are Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, or Santa Monica). Visit Disneyland or Universal Studios if you can afford it
San Diego--visit Mission Bay, old San Diego (really close-by) and Sea World (if you can afford it)
Las Vegas--go to any pool at a major casino and you'll meet lots of friends (male and female)--go to the clubs. Go to the Venecian (inside) and see the gondola rides, go to the Treasure Island (outside) and see the 1700s sea battle (including a boat being sunk), go to the Mirage at night and see the volcano explode (outside), go to the Bellagio and see the majestic fountains, go inside the Paris Las Vegas and Caesars Palace and see all the shops, restaurants, and animated statues.
Enjoy. (P.S. Knowing most young people, Vegas will be the highlight).
Use couchsurfing.org for places to stay, it's better than hostels in my opinion.
San Francisco is awesome but pretty expensive to eat, so I suggest either buying groceries or using yelp.com to find cheap places for food. also look into scoutmob.com, they give you coupons for restaurants around the city (and they have it for other cities too!)
For Boston go to a red sox game! When you're on the east coast and figuring out buses, use megabus.com. I got roundtrip tickets from Boston-NYC for $3 one time.
Thanks for the advise guys.
Does ne1 have advise on the middle section of my travels? After Vegas....
Austin, Texas is a great town. Good music and people.
