I'm stayed in 2012 in Ushuaia.....
For my own experience,i'm have some tips (hope this will help you)...
- The distance from BsAs (Buenos Aires) to the city of Ushuaia is quit long (if i'm not wrong more than 3.000 Kms), probaly more or less 2 fulll days. I'm remember whem im researchin for the trip planning, other travellers already said if you take the course by bus, you don't have enought time to take pictures os apreciate the places in the patch. So i'm take a flight from the Aeroparque Airport ( usually utilized for domestic flighs) to the city of Ushuaia.
-If you decide to take the bus, visit the website of plataforma10 (googling...), its a online site, plan carefully the stops, if you want to visit the other cities ( Puerto Madrin, Rio Gallegos, and so....).
-In the winter (talking of Ushuaia), some places are closed, no penguins due to the very low temperatures!!! (Only the "brave" birds called Catamaranes sit in the little rocky islands!!!)
-If you like to practise snowboard, the Cerro Castor is the hint!!!
-Visit the National Park " Tierra del Fuego", amazing place if you like nature.
And a personal hint, be sure to use a impermeable (water proof) shoes with quick dry socks, i'm very close to ruining my trip because i'm don't have then!!!.....
