Hello,
Weather is hot all year round but now till sometime in October, you can get rain and wind which is the same around the area and much of southern Asia.
I have always been surprised that people pick the Maldives as a wedding place. It is a strict muslim country (so while nothing like Iran, it does have some restrictions, especially for women, which carries heavy punishments). It has beaches and er.... beaches.
Have you looked at Thailand? Lots and lots more to see and do there, it's cheaper, and no hassle. Easy travel to nearby countries too.
Snorkeling is fantastic in the Maldives - there's an amazing variety of fish and great visibility. Apart from snorkeling and diving you would probably have the option of going on a fishing trip but that's about it. The resort that I stayed on (Kurumba) offered free activities within the resort throughout the day, such as yoga, petanque, ping-pong and fish-feeding, among others. Nightlife would consist of whatever is on the resort - in mine there were a few restaurants and a couple of small bars.
I booked through Trailfinders who also organised a speedboat transfer from the airport to the resort.
Me and my wife recently came back from our honey moon trip to Maldives and I would say it’s the best that we ever, not just because it was our honeymoon but more because of the beauty of the place. Despite being expensive but it’s really worth it. I will remember our honeymoon for the rest of my life and the weather it was awesome just to make things perfect. but I guess you still need to check weather in different seasons to make sure you are travelling at the right time. We managed to get a great deal through -snip-. Among the activities we enjoyed was the sea safari, A day time trip to a desert island was also great.
Hope you enjoy your trip, Maldives are worth every penny.
