Property in the South of France

I am looking to take a month long trip to the South of France next year basing in Marseilles and then going West to the Spanish border returning to Marseilles then going East to the Italian one. I am not interested in Nice, or Cannes etc

It's a matter of driving around, finding areas you like, looking in the windows of estate agents and asking them what they have to offer.

Prices are still quite high in France, but make an offer and if they won't take it, tell them you have many more houses to look at. The market has been very slow so it's a buyer's market, especially if you find one of the many British owned houses for sale.

You will have to pay quite a bit in buyer's fees on top of the cost of the place, and lawyer's fees so watch your budget. When I bought one in northern France, I got a French mortgage on it with little trouble.

A rural location, not even in a village, can be fairly cheap. It should have a cess pit and no gas. Ask about internet.
