My husband and I will fly into Barcelona. After 4 days we will either train or rent a car and go to begur for 2 nights and then cadaques for 2 nights.I know we need a car in this area. I want to then leave the car in spain and take a train to Provence. (paradou). We will be staying in paradou for 3 nights and then fly out of Marseillaise airport. we will stay near the airport on the last night.
I would get a car when ready to leave Barcelona (parking and driving there is a bit of a nightmare).
It's not far up the coast to Begur though I would take the motorway (A7) which I seem to remember is a toll road. The coast road will get you there eventually but will take a very long time.
Then further north to Cadaques.
Then car back to Barcelona and a flight to Marseilles.
Rent a car at the airport and A7 and A54 and it's not far by car to Paradou.
No need to stay near the airport on your last night unless you have an early flight out.
