Hallo travelers!
I'm a student web design. Our final assignment is to make our own funeral business.
Because I like traveling i'm creating a network where you can say where you want to spread your ashes. Other people/travelers can pick you up and spread your ashes at the location you want in exchange for credits. With these credits you get discount cheques for traveling.
Do you think this could work? Would you do this?
Thanks for answering and helping out a travel lover!
Greetings from Belgium!
Interesting idea, but I prefer to do my traveling while I'm alive!
Haha... hilarious...
Good luck.
Cheers,
Terry
Cool Idea. I think the challenge would be a stranger picking up a dead person's ashes.
- Where would that occur?
- Would you trust a stranger(s) with your mother's ashes?
- How do you know the person actually did it and just didn't throw you straight into the garbage?
- The person should have to submit a photo of the ash-spreading to prove they were in the correct place.
- How many people would you have to spread around to get a decent amount of credits?
In my mind, I think I would rather have a scenario like this. When my arrangements are made, they include a certain number of natural-looking "stones" with my name, birth/life dates and maybe a quote inscribed on them. The funeral home could charge a nice premium for creating the stones. Those small stones are what people take to the places I specify as a discrete memorial of me. I could even say "Place me by a bench that looks out onto the Boboli Gardens." That way, my ashes won't end up in the trash if someone is just out for the money and the stones can be sent through the mail to the traveller instead of being picked up.
Not exactly practical - I doubt that you'd get enough business to cover operating expenses
