Travelling From Edinburgh to Baltimore On A Budget

Hi Tavellerspoint! I'm new, so please let me know if I'm doing anything wrong!

The cheapest at that time (mid/late July departure) would be approx $848. return LHR-JFK on either Virgin Atlantic or Delta - KLM/Delta can also get you there from EDI via AMS into JFK for about the same price.

Cheapest I could find was going either Lufthansa or United from Heathrow (London, UK) to Newark, New Jersey on July 24th with a return (same airports) on August 7th for 500 British pounds which is $784. You can also get a flight from Edinburgh to Newark, New Jersey (same dates) Round trip for 536 British pounds, which is $840.

You can also fly Delta from Heathrow to Dulles Airport (just west of Washington, DC) on the same dates both going and coming on Delta Airlines for 604 British pounds, which is $947.

Since Dulles (in northern Virginia) is about 1 hour from Baltimore, this would save you 3-4 hours over driving all the way up to Newark (4-5 hours away). Be aware that the turnpike out to Dulles is a toll road, however--so this needs to be added to the airfare difference.

Lastly, to save on railroad costs (and to get you directly to Baltimore), you can fly United Airlines on the same exact dates as above (both ways) from Edinburgh to/from Baltimore with stops in Newark (for about 3-4 hours) for 667 British pounds, which is $1,045.

Thank you for the help. I have been searching everywhere with little success, and this gives me something to go on.
