Information on Burma

Have any of you traveled to Burma before. I am going to be in Thailand again in March and I am very interested in Burma. There is one Island in particular. Kudan Island, west of hua hin. If there are any of you that have experienced burma I would love to here about it

I've read numerous travel blogs on different websites by people who have travelled in Burma in recent years. Doing this gives you a good insight in to your travel options. Burma is still under a military regime. You can only enter/depart by air. There are still many areas off limits to foreigners. I'd recommend you adhere to your visa requirements and don't try to promote political discussions whilst there.

Hi, sverapasworld.
First off, I applied for my visa for Burma when I was in Bangkok last year. I had to wait for just under 2 hours at the embassy which wasn’t bad. I am sure that you will adore Burma. I spent 2 weeks in Burma and it was a great holiday experience. You have to see the Bagan temples which are very beautiful and hassle free when compared to Angor Wat. I don’t have any info about Kudan Island, sorry. If you want directions to the Myanmar embassy in Bangkok and some more info on getting your visa from Bangkok then I found this website very helpful. -snip- Have a great trip
