Travel USA

Hi all,
We are getting closer to our 90 day vacation in the USA. Thanks for all your previous help. Awesome.
We are collecting our RV in Chicago and have 7 days to travel around before heading to Osk Kosh. we were thinking of going up arund Michigan across 75 and down into Wisconsin. We will be new to travelling on the other side of the road!! Any good suggestions for Michigan and around? We have 2 children ages 12 and 9 years?

I want to USA!! I want my dream come true

The is awesome - don't miss it!

I grew up in Michigan and there are a few beautiful places I absolutely love. At and near Detroit you and the family can see the Henry Ford Museum which is engaging for kids where they can look at amazing cars from the beginning to now and there are many fun activities for them. They also have an outdoor place to look through houses of well known people which I really like.
If you are going near the U.P. (Upper Peninsula), Mackinac Island is incredible. You take a ferry to get there and there are no cars (its the place where the movie "Somewhere in Time" was filmed). The island is not that big but you can rent bikes and bike around the outside of the island and take horse drawn carriages everywhere, or just walk. You can go into shops and watch how fudge is made (they are really well-known for their fudge) and they have other fun shops as well.
On the lower peninsula when we come back from Mackinac, we go to the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes which we loved as kids and as adults. The views are amazing and it's really beautiful. This is near Traverse City where you can go to the Cherry Hut (EVERY single item on the menu has Michigan Cherries). We love it.
Lastly, Petoskey, MI is really fun. I would look up fun things to do there (I haven't been here forever) but their is something called Petoskey stones that you can find all over and keep. Anyway, here are a few fun things. So beautiful, summer is when you will hit better weather (try to go before September in my opinion).

I agree with VRTRavel there's a lot of exciting and interesting history in Detroit. Niagara falls is always an amazing trip and it's only about 4 and a half hours from Detroit plus you'll get to see some of New York that way! I think if you can that'd be worth the trip and you could even come down a little bit on the east coast which there's always fun American history through there.
