Hi, I am travelling on my own to Thailand & Australia on my own in feb 2013 & im really just looking for.some advice/tips as im quite nervous about it. Thanks.

first of all Congrats, gaining the courage to travel alone is a very hard thing, it will soon be outweighed bt the feeling of achievement and joy though, Thailand and Australia are 2 of the best places you could have picked, they are both very easy to travel around and all part of the main backpacking route-so you will have no problem meeting fellow travellers.

Thanks very much I have to say I'm quite shocked I actually booked it but it feels like the right thing to do! I am 24 in July I'm from Ireland/Dublin and I just decided it was time to see a bit of the world
That's very good to hear that I have picked 2 places that are part of the main backpacking route! I don't even know where to start with the questions!! To be honest I am quite nervous about Thailand, what islands would you recommend to visit?

Ph Phi and Samui are 2 very easy islands to visit, they are both geared toward tourists and there will be virtually no language barrier.
However do not these islands do have a seedier side with prostitution rife although i wouldn't consider either dangerous.
Further down towards Malaysia is Ko Lipe a beautiful, less developed (but its happening) island, very tranquil and pretty, especially up in the North of the island, only 15 mins walk from sunrise beach where the boats drop you.
