Hi, I know I am regurgitating previous and recent posts (which I have read). I was just wondering if it I should book the hostel before I leave the UK, or do I just turn up in Bangkok and find one?
I like to book only the first night or two. Actually, the first few days are often the best! Are you really going for 4+ months - GOOD FOR YOU!
I'd suggest looking around online, doing a bit of research, using the forums like this one, and finding a nice hostel to stay before you leave.
Not only will you have one less thing to worry about, you know you'll have a guaranteed nice place to stay when you arrive after your long flight.
As a bonus, the online rates are usually cheaper.
Thanks for you quick replies.
One other thing, when travelling solo, what do you do about money?
Do you carry around cash or just withdraw money from ATMs?
hi there, good to carry some local currency with you as not all places accept cr cards. Also to experience living like a local and find good deals, you could try sites like travelmob.com or 9flats. Enjoy!
I use my debit/cash card at the ATM's - just be careful and only use the ones outside of a bank. Make sure your PIN is all numeric, I learned the hard way when mine was not!
Thanks the info again, is that based on past experience?
I'm nervous now, I can't imagine the anxiousness that awaits me nearer to the date.
Anyone got any rough ideas what would be the average monthly spend in that neck of the woods?
Thanks
