working aboard a cargo ship

I live in America and thinking of travelling the world working aboard a cargo ship,im currently a truck driver.I would greatly appreciate any advice.Thanks

Yet another of the many romantic urban myths (like young backpackers wanting to work on cruise ships) that will never happen unless you have special skills/trades that are applicable on keeping a ship running.

Google brings up countless shipping lines... drop them an email and see what they say...
