Living and working in nz

Hello I have a diploma for doing educational assistant work in schools (teachers aid) and I want to work in New Zealand. I have a ton of questions- where should I live? And I want to have roommates so how do I do that? How hard is it to save which working there? Thanks for your help

The first thing you need to do is to get your qualifications verified by the NZQA - see http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/qualifications-standards/international-qualifications/

There are schools all over New Zealand but obviously, with a larger population, the greatest concentration of schools is in Auckland. But Auckland is one of the most expensive cities in which to live; rents are high, foodstuffs aren't cheap and if you want to buy a house you're looking at about eight or nine times the average salary. Having said that, it's a great place to live. Compare the climates and constituents of the major cities of Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and the rest of the country and decide on which region you want to be in. The Educational Review Office writes a report on each school every three years or so - see them at http://ero.govt.nz/index.php/Early-Childhood-School-Reports/Early-Childhood-Reports

There are primary, intermediate and high schools - where do you want to be? For jobs, try the Education Gazette at http://www.edgazette.govt.nz/ or Seek at http://www.seek.co.nz/
