Hi my partner and I are based in Nanjing but would like to travel throughout China in July and have extended our Visa to a Travellers visa to do so. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas?
Nowadays, travel is often the most expensive part of a holiday.
When I was there I thought about going by train but as distances are great and the trains slow, I also looked at flights.
I found a flight about the same price as a train so took that. I never seemed to have any trouble getting flights by just turning up at airports (this was in the Jan-Feb period).
Do visit Xi'an if you can. There are a small set of terracotta warriors there too in a small museum. I found it in the Lonely Planet guide book and the taxi driver had trouble finding it as so very few people vsit it.
If you take a ferry to Macau, you will probably need to book it the nght before as they do fill up.
