I have currently secured a career break for 9 monts and plan to travel the world on December the 8th. I am starting in Thailand and will travel to one of the south islands before moving on to Vietnam and Cambodia. I then have a flight booked to the U.S on the 2nd feb and will travel the east coast using the 'Bamba bus' (any reviews regarding the bus would be appreciated) before flying from new Orleans to Columbia in early march. Once in Columbia i plan to travel down to Rio but have no idea how I will do this and the cost it entails!? I really need suggestions as after looking at a map and trying to plot my route I have realised how vast land between the two places is! Any tips, comments, suggestions or travellers in a similar situation with ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Skipping Laos ayy?? I would recommend rethinking as it was my favorite. Can't go wrong with any of the islands in Thailand if you ask me. And don't have much experience on out east coast (except trips when I was young) because the west coast is the best coast. Accomodation will cost you a pretty penny over here, look into couchsurfing, house sitting everynow and then to soften the blow. Being from New Orleans I congratulate you on choosing our fine city. Do a swamp tour, charter a fishing trip, visit LSU for a American football game (if there between September and November) is a must. French Quarter, bourbon street, mardi gras, live music. Depends on when you coming, always something to do down here.
