Working In India

Hi,

Hi drhammy.
I'm no expert on the topic. But, there are lot of Foreigners working in India mainly as airline Pilots. I dont think its difficult to work if you have valid Visa.
However, are you content working at Indian standards of pay packages? A highly paid job in the software Industry is maybe $1500 which I believe is very low compared to other parts of the world.
But, if you are content with it and want to enjoy staying in India, then Wish you all the best.

I agree with santu. The pay is not exactly great but everything is relative. My parents grew up in india. I grew up in the UK and have been there six times as I have relatives in and around Mumbai.

As you have said you have been to India to visit. How long for ?. It might be worth "testing" the waters for short while before you bite the bullet. Why not save some money and go out there for a month or two and after that decide whether you want to take the plunge ?.

India is a very beautiful country but you have to be prepared for the cultural shock. Poverty is in the face, theres still alot of corruption. On the other side of the coin you can rent an appartment fairly cheaply and have 2 or 3 servants. Not something that you can afford to do here in the UK :-( and lead a pretty cool lifestyle.

Can you speak Hindi ? Marathi ?. Are you planning on setting up your own business out there ?

Hi drhammy,

I live and work in India. I may not be the best person to give u an opinion since I have not lived in other parts of the world (though traveled). It is right that there is poverty and dirt compared to developed countries, but the life is more down to earth here. It is a spiritual land and you feel aligned to the nature. Since you have been to India and developed a wish to work here, there is indeed some special attraction in the place.
I agree with tandoorichicken's advice on coming here for a while and judge for yourself whether you would like to spent a bigger part of your life here.
The pay is indeed less but then the cost of living is also less. So at the end of the day, you save the same.

Hi

Thanks for the replies. I spent 2 months in India on my last trip and I found it difficult at times, but I feel I would want to work there to get a better understanding of the place. I also understand that my pay would never be comparable to the uk. But i reckon I could live a pretty good lifestyle.

Hi drhammy,
It depends which city in India u want to work in...whats your preference?? and yes the pay will never be same!!! but with Indian pay u can live lavishly in India also
Ciao!

Hi Drhammy

Good advice above - I can help with visas if still required

Cheers

Dear friend,
I think just contact you different Consultancy of India which is in New Delhi, from there you would be find what you want, Actually for work in India there are require to search your own field, that's not tough but now India market in jobs point of view much suitable.
So you can contact the agency which provides job with relevant visas in India.
