I've heard of Singapore to Brazil... but don't know how much, I just heard it's cheap.
I wish I meet someone from Latin America within 3 days... I have met people from Colombia and Chile, but I never asked them how much the airfare cost.
The computer is so slow, I wanted to check out air france, is that a budget airline or its just one of the cheapest option, like Finn air.
What if I am flying from Hanoi... I wish there is something like an Airasia flight from Hanoi to South America.
Air France is not a budget airline; it's the main national French airline.
China to South America is one of the most expensive routes in the world. There are no direct flights, that I know of, from East Asia to S. America: most of them go through Los Angeles or another U.S. city. Perhaps you could go via Australia and S. Pacific- but that wouldn't be cheap.
On FareCompare the cheapest flight I see from Beijing to Lima, Peru is $2,097 (including tax) and flies via Chicago and Miami. It takes 27 hours, including layovers. That's a little too much time and money, I think.

We did an extensive research on this route last year and based on that our findings were:
- You can't use search engines for such combined trip and that one way ticket might be more expensive than return with some major airlines.
- Cheapest is to fly from China to the US (such as LA, Atlanta, Houston, Miami) by a major Chinese or US airline such as Air China, China South or East Airlines. You can use search engines to compare flights from China to the US. From the US, probably your best bet will be low cost carrier Spirit Airlines, which flies to several destinations in Colombia (Cartagena, Medellin, Bogota, Cali) and to Lima in Peru.
- Second or equally cheapest was from China to Madrid (with a big airline such as Air China) and from there to Colombia (Bogota, Medellin), Ecuador (Quito, Guayaquil) or Peru (by Iberia, Avianca, Air Europa or Lan Airlines). You can use search engine such as opodo for price comparison before you go to the individual airline's website to book your ticket.
- South-East Asia/Australia to Brazil/Argentina proved to be more expensive in our case, but I heard Singapore Airlines, Quantas and maybe TAP fly between South America and South-East Asia/Australia.
In our case, we took Beijing-Madrid by Air China and Madrid-Guayaquil (Ecuador). It cost us app EUR900 that time.
I think you can get transit visa for Schengen area (Europe) or for the US.
I would probably take China-US-Colombia (Cartagena), as it would still be the shortest, possibly cheapest, and Colombia is an amazing country and ideal to start travelling down south on the continent.
If you are thinking about buying return tickets, you might want to check flight ticket prices within South America, as the distances are enormous and tickets might not be the cheapest.

"might be the cheapest", I like that part and Colombia, Yes, I would love that country, I know very little about it, and so far I have only met 1 Colombian. I heard there is a guy from Colombia in my New town, where only 3 foreigners live.
But now have more months to think about this. If it was cheap, I won't think much.

Thanks. If I am definitely going to the US, this is fine. Visa to Latin America is easy. I don't want to do transit to the US. If I am spending that much, I'd like to set foot in California or somewhere. "One of the most expensive routes", then I'd probably hit Europe first. I am positive that with all the stamps in my passport, I think I can get a visa to Paris and via the budget airlines. Latin America has to wait, unless I am going there for something other than tourism.
Well, change of plans again. I get to stay longer in a new Asian city.
