Hi all,
Hey Ellee,
I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and it is booming here because of oil and gas. The job market is really good and it will be like this for the for awhile. It would be probably the easiest to find a job in Calgary. BC and out east is a bit harder to find jobs and they tend to be more expensive.
Other than BC, it's usually 7-8 months of winter in Canada. So it might be hard to find a job as a life guard. I would suggest to try and get a job as a server because you can make a lot more money. And yes, everyone tips in Canada.
There is a lot of outdoor stuf to do in BC and Alberta, so you will enjoy both provinces. In Calgary, we have the Rocky Mountains at our backdoor, which means a lot of snowboarding in the winter.
Hope this helps!
