I'm putting together a trip in East Africa and would like to include Somaliland (not Somalia).

I'm planning a two week vacation there myself in 2014... It might not be the most up-to-date, but have some useful information...
To add to this should there be a dive center at a hotel in Berbera...

Do you know the Somali land Embassy is only found in Ethiopia in Africa ?.
there fore you will pass via Ethiopia first, and thier embassy is some 20 minute walk from Addis Bole airport
If you are going overland, The way is via Eatern Ethiopia Harer walled city, know for the ppl feeding hyena friendly at night,
But the drive After Harare spicailly after Jigjiga /Ethiopian Somali region is dusty road...
My preference to visit in Somali land is Hargessa capital and University

Brendan you'll have to let us know how it all pans out - I am planning to hit Somalialand on my Africa overland trip but I suspect I wont be in that area for a year.. either way, I'd love to know!
