Me and my cousin have been travelling SE asia for the past few months, and spent way over our budget ( oops)
We fly to Melbourne on june 4th, and pretty much need jobs asap!

You should have a work visa. Some arrive with a normal tourist visa and little money for a long stay. Customs puts them on the next plane home.
Australia is an expensive country and many who do fruit picking, etc earn enough to get by but not much more.
Many, many go to Australia for such work so do not expect to just walk into a job, unless you can contact a company before you go. You might even try work agencies.
