Wanting to travel up the East Coast, not sure whether to do STA tour/oz experience or book things on my own (which scares the hell out of me).

i fly out to Brisbane September 30th so i will be about when you're out there and always open for meeting up with fellow lone travellers - we have to stick together!
i' planning on heading to Byron bay then going up the east coast as far as my money will take me before i need to get a job and a place to live!

Ellen, I've booked the oz experience bruce cobber package, got it for £320 with STA. I think it's a good way to do is as it's now with greyhound buses and they travel at least 3 times a day up the coast which makes things more flexible, plus it is a decent price! I'm in Sydney for a few days from 30th - 2nd/3rd Jan, staying at Wake Up hostel!! So exited. Where are you staying?
Jen, hah yes us solo travellers definitely have to stick together! When will you be in Byron Bay? I'll be there for a few nights around 4th Jan, got to meet up for drinks!
Mollie, your plans sound quite similar to mine too Where are you staying over NYE? Are you getting a greyhound pass too?

Maisie - that's a really good deal! I'm looking at which one to do - so many choices!
I'm staying with friends, just a bus ride into the centre.
Looks like we will all be in Sydney around the same time so we should definitely meet up for drinks!

I'm flying to Sydney in late December, gonna stay there for NYE. Just have to find a place to stay that's not fully booked yet.. Seems impossible though.. After Sydney I'm gonna travel up the east coast so I guess we have quite the same plans Travelling alone like you guys so im also up for a drink or two!

Hi Ellen, yeah it was a v good deal as it includes a surf lesson at Byron Bay, one night accommodation/ferry transfer to Magnetic Island and a day tour of the Atherton Tablelands in Cairns, too! You should have a look into it

Casandra, I'm flying late December too, xmas day in fact! How long are you planning on staying in oz for? Have you got a greyhound pass or are you planning on hiring a car/campervan when you're out there?
