Hey! I'm looking into going to Thailand for 5 months from nov-march. None of my friends can come so I'm doing it solo. I'm really easy going so I don't mind how much time I spend in Bangkok but obviously I do wanna travel to all the islands just go with the flow really.. Street markets, moon partys, trekking the lot I'm an air hostess so just waiting for the email confirming my 5 months off and I'll be booking flights. I'm from Brighton in the UK so will fly out from either London gatwick or heathrow x

I'm flying into Thailand on the 16th October, and so far I haven't booked my flight out of Thailand as I'm not sure how long I will be there. I'm also planning on going to Cambodia and Vietnam as well. But if I'm around in November I'll let you know.
Cheapest flight I found was out of Gatwick through STA.
What are you doing about visas?
To stay in Thailand for three months, apply for a single entry 60-day tourist visa before you arrive and then visit an immigration office in Thailand to extend your visa by 30 days. The visa extension will cost you 1900B.
To stay in Thailand for four months, apply for a double entry 60-day tourist visa before you arrive and then make a border run to a neighbouring country after you’ve used the first 60 days. On re-entry into Thailand you will get a second 60 days.
To stay in Thailand for five or six months, apply for a double entry 60-day tourist visa before you arrive. Before your first 60 days is up, extend it at an immigration office for 30 days. When your 30 day extension is up, make a border run, activating you second 60 days on re-entry into Thailand. You can then extend this by another 30 days.

I'm going to be in Thailand landing in Bangkok on the 16th October too... what flight are you on from Gatwick? Cause I booked through sta too! lol. I'm doing all of Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam etc.. wanting to do the full moon on the 14th nov I think it is , then go round the islands and down in Malaysia to get my flight out of Singapore to oz on the 9th dec. So I'll probably around at a similar time.
To be honest I was meant to be doing it with a bf till we split up and although it can be a scary thought going on your own I think it will actually be better, means you'll meet more people and everyone is in the same boat!

Hello sorry guys I don't log into this site very often but yeah it's a bit scary specially for girls on their own but we will just meet people straight away so! I'm not booking any flights until I get my confirmation from work which should be in the next couple of weeks. I might go to Mexico for x mas as I have family there and then come back I dunno really just do whatever I won't book anything until I'm in Thailand anyway.

Currently sitting in my hammock right on the beach in ko phangan , absolutely lush I'm right on the beach , love it so much I've booked my room for a month , I have double entry visa saying for 4 months doing the lot but in no rush to leave here I'm quite sorted been out a bought a cool box and kettle today so I'm set for the month lol anyway give me a shout if u want I'm here until jan6 then go to Bali then oz laters people ..... I am also planning to travel to thailand in Feb 2014...my plan is to travel til singapore via train and then getting off at stations that i like..i am also a lone traveler and being a female have some hang ups..would love to have some company..let me know once you have finalized your plan..
