What is Thailand like in may through to September ?

Hi guys

Rain most days from June onwards but though heavy when it does rain, it quickly dries without trace and then can get rather hot.

But if you are diving, no problem, and even walking in it, it is quite warm and you soon dry afterwards.

The bonus is not the crowds about as in Dec to Apr, and plenty of cheap accommodation as it is off season.

A friend who went diving there said the water was perfectly clear, comfortably warm, and if you take some bread crumbs, you get inundated with fish. Consider taking an underwater camera. Even snorkeling you can get some good pics.

Is it just like over cast all the time until December ?

Where would you recommend going after phi phi ?

Well I have been to BKK & Pattaya in Sept and the weather is pleasant and only a couple of times I felt it was Humid. Night is again cool and windy. The best part is that you can get good deals and its not crowded.

Feeding fish bread crumbs is tantamount to giving a cheetah in Africa a hamburger. Fish in the wild don't eat bread in their natural habitat and stupid tourists introducing it to them completely messes with the eco system. DOnt do it!

to the OP, the months you will be going you will be just fine. There are actually two monsoons that hit Thailand. So depending on which coast of the peninsula you are on, you might not even get any rain for days, and you'll have a few clear sunny days.

I'd do your diving cert in Thailand. Koa Tao is still by far the cheapest. Im not totally sure what the price is these days but expect something like 250pounds and most places will give you discount accommodations with this too.

I'd get your Ipad in the UK. You'll have more confidence in the warranty and the prices are actually better in some cases.
