Im also going roughly same time it's something I've never done and completely new to me and I'm doing it alone, from word of mouth I've heard there not worth the money! Majority of people I've spoke to have said to go straight out there in a hostel and mingle! I'm still thinking about doing it though as I'm travelling alone I think it would be beneficial ... If your a confident person and willing to take the plunge I don't think you would need it

I'm travelling alone too, so also think an intro scheme may be beneficial. Have you got some sort of plan for when you're out there?

I was in the same boat as you – I’m travelling to Australia through BUNAC on November 14th!
Google them and see what you think – perhaps it’s not what you’re after but it’s quite decent for peace of mind.
