I should be flying out to Sydney sometime between the end of july and the start of August. I'll be on a working holiday visa as well, I think as far as work goes you can pretty much work anywhere but the most popular traveller jobs are in hospitality; bar work, waiting on etc. But there's also the option of fruit picking and other jobs that will get you an extra 12 months in Aus. I heard that the hostels have notice boards up that will have some jobs on and notices from other travellers about maybe moving on somewhere in a car share or campervan. All I've done at the moment is research hostels and worry about the work when I get there, just go with the flow. I wouldn't worry too much about it My advice is probably book a hostel where you want to stay, plan where you'd would like to go around Aus and then see what happens when you get there. From what I've seen there's always people looking to flat share and share transport Good luck!

Hi im Mike 20 flying to Cairns with a buddie at start of september and then work my way down the coast looking for work straight away going to do the great barrier first then travel on havent got much more planned would be nice to meet up with some people on the way i have also heard that in hostels there is notice boards with jobs and most hostels want staff in them aswell for a trade of free stay as a cheaper option to live for a while if short on money where is everyone flying from and booking there flights from?

I was looking to fly from Birmingham but really all I can find are flight that have two stop overs with really long connections like a nine hour one and a five hour one. So I'm going to have a look at flying from Heathrow and see if I can get a flight with shorter stopping times if possible. you?

Is it a work visa or Work Holiday Visa?
If its WHV then connect with loads of like minded people who explore australia. And if its work visa then you must be knowing under what skill category you have applied for a work visa.
