I want to travel the world?

I have dreams of Visiting the grand monuments of Italy, Having a coffee outside Notre-dom, exploring the Catacoms of Paris, taking a walk across the great wall of China, viewing the pyramids of Egypt, clime the "El camino del rey" and even having a picnic in central park...

It's not. :-)

You can work your way round and see the world in the process.

Or you can work hard at home and sacrifice some of the things regular people spend their money on to pay for your travels in a few brief spells each year.

South east Asia is cheap - if you get over the hump of working and saving for a flight, you can live very cheaply, maybe £10 a day and still have fun.

Or look at the Working Holiday Visa schemes in Australia and New Zealand which let you travel there for a year or two - friends of mine just came back from doing that, did some hostel management for a bit, worked at some extreme sports attractions, etc.

So there are options, but no free rides.

This is the same problem suffered by so many would be travellers. You will have to get a job and save up but unless you are willing to throw the job away, you will get just a few weeks holiday.

Outside of June to August you can get relatively cheap flights and accommodation and until you can afford a big holiday, you can take weekends away to foreign places.

If there was anyway of doing it with no money, millions would do it.

Dude i think its dream and you must visit the whole world in the dream because you have required much budget and other side time has so important but i salute you thinking or passion of your thought...

to be completely honest with you the only thing stopping you from seeing the world is yourself. i had the exact same attitude (in fact most days that thought creeps into my head) but there are ways to do it, despite reading all the blog entries and headlines from travel magazines saying that it is possible but to some seems so out of reach. its not an easy task that is for sure but would you rather just day dream about it or actually make it happen!

i decided that i needed to start living the life i day dreamed about (the life about wine and cheese in front of the Eiffel Tower, riding a camel through Egypt, making it from one end to the other of the Great Wall of China, swimming with fish in the Great Barrier Reef) i applied to become a teacher in thailand and now I'm saving money while living an adventure and planning my next adventure! DONT GIVE UP!
the most expensive part will be the flight depending on where you are going you can find cheap flights all the time. i got a credit card about two months before i left to thailand and paid for everything with it then paid it off right away but to rack up miles (so now when i leave thailand my flight to AUS is covered through the miles I've earned)
teaching english is a great way to start an adventure to see the world, you can save money while exploring a new culture!

if you need any recommendations for anything, don't hesitate to ask!
hope this helps somewhat :/

"... to be completely honest with you the only thing stopping you from seeing the world is yourself..."

Ditto.

Cheers,
Terry

Hey it's best idea i have many of the places in my bucket lists - i hope this year few of them come out of the bucket!

You need to work hard and achieve your dreams and for that money is must. Without money nothing is possible. Getting travelling experience can only be achieved through hard work All the best.

Lower your expectations for a job, would be my advice. Work as a server a nice restaurant, might have to work your way up but with a good work ethic, it can happen real fast. Find a place with lots of American tourist$. Save up.. then travel. The last part is not negociable, you gotta do it bro.

Remember Europe is like ten times more expensive than most the rest of the world. Maybe start with a spot that real cheap...

peace
