Italy tour..Please help!!

Hi there,
I am planning to visit Italy with my friend. As of now, I want to visit Milan,Venice,Rome and Florence . How many days in each city will be good enough or ideal to see the 'must see places' in these cities? I am planning to stay in each of these cities for about 2 days. Will that be sufficient? Kindly guide me. I would also like to go to Lake Como and Pisa. Can i cover all these places in 10 days? Thanks in advance.

Start Milan. Lake Como is close by. Then east to Venice. South to Florence and Pisa is a short trip west from Florence. Then south to Rome. So fly in Milan and out Rome.

Rome deserves most of your time and even then you have to plan what to see. Milan and Venice are a day each and Florence and Pisa could be done in not much more. You will have to budget for travelling time, looking at bus and train schedules beforehand.

You can buy tickets online to places you want to see which will save considerable time as they can have long queues, notably the Uffizi gallery in Florence which has horrendous queues in summer.

i want to go Italy please guid me proper..

I agree to Cyberia's tour and I have 2 remarks : Uffizi gallery is time consuming and some people came out disappointed so better tour the city which is a museum by itself; 2 - between Florence and Rome, if possible stop in Siena
Bon Voyage

Yes you can totally do it in 10 dyas I did the same trip.

Fly into Milan out of Rome as per Cyberia. Trains are really good and fast between the cities plus you can book them all online before you depart.

This is very roughly how I did it.

Milan - 1day (not much there to see)
Venice - 1 day (very token tourist) a local friend from venice also told us to stay off the island we stayed in a campsite very cheap and ventured in during the day.
Florence - 3 days...
from here you can do a day trip on the train to Pisa you will not need to stay here long take a picture and go then I would visit here in the afternoon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinque_Terre
Rome - 3 days

Hope this helps....

Thanks cyberia for the plan!!
And peanut2307...
Can you give an estimate of how much did it cost you for the trip??..where did you stay??..suggest me some good budget hotels in these places.

10 days will be more than enough.
Also try Firenze and Siena. They are two of my favourite cities in Italy. Both are in Toscana which is a very nice place.
Cheers.

To see the Italy that many of us envision before we visit, you might want to consider getting out of the cities a bit. Northern Italy for instance, the Dolomites area and my favorite, Tuscany. I've visited Italy 6 times over the last two years and Tuscany was my favorite trip--(Sept 2013) 8 glorious days driving down through northern Italy into Florence and then into Siena, San Gimignano, and the surrounding areas staying in agriturismos. Milan may not be what you're envisioning. It wasn't for me and most everyone I've known that's visited. Although, it is a great hub and does have "The Last Supper". It's much more modern (which you may love!) expensive, and it wasn't for me. Lake Como is wonderful for relaxing and renting boats on the lake. Lake Garda is another option. I just returned from my second trip to Rome a few weeks ago and it's still one of my favorite cities ever. I haven't been to Venice. No desire to for the reason Peanut mentioned "token tourist". Sadly, it sounds as if it's become quite the cliche and it's so expensive! But that's just hearsay and since I haven't been, I shouldn't even comment.

If I had 10 more days in Italy, I would skip Venice and Milan altogether and focus on Rome--Florence-Tuscany

Enjoy- It's a wonderful country with crazy drivers, excellent hospitality, beautiful countryside, and great coffee!

Hi, you must go for few days in Sardinia, by boat or fly its fantastic island
