Heyy everyone, i'm a 21 year old lad from the UK and had plans to go to Oz last october but my mate bailed on me! Haven't stopped thinking about how good it would of been so i'm looking into going alone fairly soon...

My friend did the same to me last summer so I decided i'd go alone! I'm flying out to Sydney on the 23rd Jan and i've booked into a hostel for the first week. I've spoken to loads of people going alone and everyone that's already been has said it's so easy to make friends!
When are you thinking of going?

Probably around the end of feb, the more I speak to people about it the more confident I'm getting about going!

I'm planning on travelling to oz a bit later on in September hopefully after Thailand! I'll be alone and wanting to meet some drinking partners any idea which hostels you will be staying at heard wake up is a good one?

I've been looking and wake up seems really nice but a bit more on the expensive side compared to some! I think OzIntro use Base Sydney so I guess i'll see what that's like

I'm in the same boat as you but leaving in the summer either august or September time. For a while I thought there was no way i could go alone but after speaking to people and looking on here it seems like it's the better option. Least you'll get to do your own thing!
Bit of a cheeky question but how much money are you planning on taking? I'm hoping I can save up enough by then to have a good time but like you I'm planning on working when I'm across there.
Trying to decide if I should book like a sta travel package or that. Any of you guys done that or just booked flights and that yourself?

Im also in the same position as all of you guys and im heading out to oz on the 10th of april through this company called bunac , seems really awesome and im going on a group flight so I'll meet people before I land aha
Im not too sure about accomodation though, have booked my first 2 nights at wake up in sydney through the company for the first 2 nights to see how it is and what everyone else is doing, and im hoping that if I wanted to I could book a few more nights there. But during my travels would I have to prebook anywhere???
Not even sure what I want to do yet, definetly want to do the east cost and quite like the sound of melbourne and brisbane ...
Would be good to meet some people for company !!
