Hi ya,
Head to Thailand, its a great place and very easy to get around. You will most likely fly into Bangkok - stay a few days, ideally over a weekend to catch the weekend markets (crazy!) and visit the Grand Palace. Then head south (get a sleeper train or bus) to the beaches, choose the East or West coast depending on when you are there, they have different wet seasons. Chang Mai in the North is also great for trekking and villiage stays, and you can ride an elephant if you're into that kind of thing, I then headed across into Laos and down the Mekong on a boat trip. Another amazing country to vist....
How long trip do u want to make?
Be a 'different' RTW traveller.
Bin Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam (yawn) etc. Go to Africa en-route to New Zealand and on to South America via Fiji.. Last stops either being Mexico or Canada before heading home. Much more interesting and beautiful and millions less trendies with laptops, i-pods and Blackberries wearing the latest fashions. No regrets guaranteed.
but asia is our main point of interest
BedouinLeo: Travelling in Africa is great I'll agree, but they did say Asia was their main point of interest, and you can still get off the beaten track in Laos especially!

Just trying to broaden people's horizons. Getting off the beaten track in Laos for me and my colleagues was like trying to find a quiet street in Central London at 8am. Although I have to say Vientiane has to be, along with Nuuk, one of the smallest and 'nothing to do' captal cities I've ever visited. Still 1000's of western tourists everywhere no matter where we went, either in the city or countryside all buying t-shirts and statues, just like at the Taj Mahal and Parthenon.

When did I go to where? Laos, India, Greenland or Greece?
Different dates for all four.
You can find some cool -snip-. Now, choice is yours coz in summer also every country has different climate.

Start in Lisbon, on the western edge of Europe, and head east... towards China. Or start in Capetown and head north towards the Meditteranean. Or south from Kirkennes.... East from Vladivostok... you get the idea.
Or start in Istanbul, between Europe and Asia, and head in any direction you choose.
