Travel Greece to Egypt to Turkey

Rob and Z has indicated that this thread is about Egypt

The best way to realise your plans would be to take the ferry to Turkey and then fly from Turkey (Istanbul, Ankara) to Egypt.

300 EUR one-way from Turkey to Egypt is a normal price, btw. Expect to pay around 400 EUR for Turkey-Egypt or Greece-Egypt return.

Some other flight options would involve flying from Western Europe to Egypt (Germany, France, UK, Netherlands), this might actually be cheaper than flying from Turkey or Greece. Depends on what your travel plans are.

www.skyscanner.net and www.ltur.com are good sites for finding cheap flights.

If visa for Syria is not a big problem for you can also look into going overland. You'll pay around 250 EUR on bus and taxi to get from Istanbul to Cairo overland.

Hey Rob,

I have found www.ferries.gr and www.feribot.net to be helpful and they list all the ferries running out of Greece and the Greek Islands. FYI... Kos to Bodrum cost me around EUR30 one way a while back.

I took the ferry to Turkey and then flew to Cairo from Istanbul. It seemed to make more sense to just go the one direction rather than flying from Greece, down to Cairo to head back up to Istanbul.

Have fun!
Cheers, Tania
