I want to plan a camping trip this year for about 6-8 people in California...possibly renting a cabin. Some where between lake Tahoe and Fresno, in the Sierra's ...any thoughts?
There are some websites:www.vrbo.com (vacation rentals by owner). If there are any cabins, houses, condos etc. in the area, this is a good place to start.

I suggest using craigslist. The area you want is probably the "gold country".

Then look under apts/housing or under vacation rentals.
Also, be sure to check out where each rental is on a map--since some will be in the area you want and some will be either farther north--or possibly closer to large cities.
