Just wondering if anyone is out there stuck on an airport.
Or who is planning on coming back to Europe and can't make it.
Or maybe worried about flights during the next days or even weeks....I just read that now a second volcano, the Hekla volcano, is active as well!!! And they were actually worried about Katla!
As you know, I run a small flight agency with several colleagues.
We are (rarely) hailing the common sense of Michael O'Leary - the boss or Ryanair, for suspending all their services until he sees how other planes fare on the re-opening of the skies again.
We have had a terrible few days at our little shop.
What I can't understand at all, as can any of us, like Utrecht says about the activity of both volcanoes - as it seems to be getting worse and much more dangerous, the airlines are starting to fly again. The mind boggles.
It beats me as well. The winds are still mostly northwest and the layer of ash is actually on lower elevations as well. Guess the testing results of some flights are positive and they start flying again.
We'll see. Seems that the report about the Hekla volcano was false: a photo taken was not of Hekla but the one with the unpronoucable name as well. Thank god
I'm starting to get a little concerned as well.... but that's not so strange seeing as I make my living in the travel industry Apparently the last time this volcano went off, the ash spewing lasted 2 years. 2 frikkin years!! Can you imagine how that would change travel? It's mind boggling. Not to mention the fact that history has shown that typically the bigger volcano next to this one will go off right after this one has. And apparently that one has caused near ice age type scenarios... oh, the joys.
At the moment, my next trip isn't till June, but I do hope things have opened up by then. Otherwise I suspect the entire World Cup might be cancelled
Oh god that would be funny no worldcup at all. But hey they can take the boat right? just the americans would have a bigger problem to get here... boattrips will go up in value I guess now. As will trains and car. I have to fly back home in two weeks from barcelona to belgium again hope by then everything is back in order if not I might get a little afraid as well I guess.

I wish every call we have had over the last six days was to book a flight. I'd be on my way to becoming a millionaire by now.
Sadly, it's all concerned relatives and friends of travellers that are stranded.
Have to say, once again - the UK government have taken ages ages to respond to a desperate situation. It's almost as if Mr. Brown 'Wants' to lose on May 6th.
I am supposed to be getting a flight myself in the next few days. The airline hasn't contacted me yet.
