For Berlin I would strongly recommend taking public transport. A public transport ticket is 2,30 EUR while a taxi is 30-50 EUR, depending on your destination. Public transport (S-Bahn Train) is bound to be faster than a taxi. Almost no hotel in Berlin does airport transfers, bc it is just so easy and cheap to simply use public transport.
For Munich and Amsterdam I would do similar - public transport into the city by train and then a taxi departing from the main train station in the city.
Rome has three airports, IIRC one is easy to get to and from by train. Check which one you'll be arriving at and where your hotel is, a taxi from one airport to the other end of the city will cost you an arm and a leg.

Every airport you mention has excellent bus services into town. Out of the six, the one I would do a bit of homework on is Barcelona. Buses from the airport seem to stop wherever there's a space, sn not necessarily the right bus at the right marked stop - and on occasion they forget to alter the destination scroll/matrix on the front of it. The driver will tell you where he's going though, so it shouldn't pose too much of a problem. The only time you might come unstuck is if the driver is having one of his 40 a day smoke breaks and isn't on the bus as you take your seat. Sometimes they won't bother checking your ticket and you end up going to Lloret instead of Las Ramblas.
There's no need to book any transfers in advance. As long as there are arrivals, there'll be shuttles. Plus, if you book a shuttle in advance and your plane is late - you may lose any payment that you've sent in advance.
You may find that a local bus across the road - maybe a 5 minute walk, is cheaper than a point-point airport shuttle service.

Thanks for that. I am aware that taxis are way too expensive and so was hoping there are airport shuttles, for about 15-20Euros, into town.
I have no issues with taking the train or bus but will I be alright with one of those boxy, wheel-behind-you luggages though? I don't have a camper style backpack and it seems like a bad idea to be navigating through crowded platforms and stuff with one of those.
Almost all Europeans travel with wheel behind you luggage, the question is not the size but the weight. If you cannot haul it up a flight of stairs reconsider the amount of crap that you take with you. Try to keep it to carry-onsize or slightly larger and the weight below 15 kgs and you will be fine.
