I've created a new author for my blog and given them "Publisher" rights. If they upload videos shouldn't I be able to see them in my video selection?
I'm just taking a whack at a guess type answer here since I have not uploaded videos. But, if adding an author and uploading video works the way it does for photos, you will only be able to view the video on your blog and through the new author's gallery.
If I add an author to my blog and they add a photo to their entry, it will (mostly likely) be uploaded to their personal photo gallery. From there, they insert it into the blog entry. I'll be able to view it in the blog and by going to their gallery (if it's not been clicked as "not for public viewing" in their gallery).
I believe the only way you'd see it in your own video collection is if you upload the video and the new author inserts that video's code into their blog entry. That's how it works for photos that are viewable by the public.
I'm sure someone will have a more complete answer. But, the right to publish just means their entry will go live once then click the "publish" button. Anything they've placed in the blog (photos, vids) are stored only in their gallery and not automatically shared in yours as the blog owner.
Gretchen's answer pretty much covers it. The publish rights only relate to your blog, not to the rest of your user account. If you want them to upload into your actual gallery, you'll need to give them your login details.
Thanks you two. That does make sence.
