Hi,
Hi Martin,
Sounds like we're going the same way! I arrived in Joburg on the 15th September myself, stayed for a week there and now I'm currently near Plettenburg Bay having flown to Port Elizabeth and caught the greyhound along the coast (unfortunately in the middle of the night which is so annoying as everyone says the scenery on that route is quite spectacular!). What part of SA are you in right now?
I'm actually staying in the Plett area for the next 3 weeks as I'm working on a volunteer project. I'll be ready to move on from here along the garden route to Cape Town probably on the 19th October or thereabouts and would like to stay in a few places along the way as I've heard it's a gorgeous route. How does that fit in with your plans? I'm also in CT for 2 weeks or so before flying on to Asia.
As for budget, I'd rather spend my money on fantastic experiences, trips and tours than fancy accomodation so I'm backpacking my way along in cheap accomodation, but I have plenty of recommendations from my friends in Plett here who have been backpacking coming from Cape Town - they've given me some great tips on where to go and where to avoid which is brill. What is your nightly budget? Are you staying in hostels / hotels?
So anyway, if you'd like some company that week along the gold coast and then in Cape Town let's talk! If it all works out and we stay together then of course we'll work something out with petrol costs etc - i'm happy to contribute! Sounds like it could be a lot of fun!
Where are you from?
Look forward to hearing from you.
Kitty
Hi,
Well i am at the moment in cape town and have to be back in johannesburg on the 10th october. I am staying in cape town till this friday, then i drive back on the garden route/ wild coast. So maybe we can meet somewhere in the plett area.
How long are you gonna stay in asia? I will be there also, but in march/april 2011.
I am from switzerland, and i also have a low budget, so i stay at backpackers hostels.
Greets,
Martin
Hi Martin,
That was a speedy route to CT indeed! I'll only be in Asia a few months. Probably move on to Oz at the end of Jan / Feb time.
Are you in SA still on the 19th Oct? It's when I finish here.
Otherwise I'm free next week but only on the 5th and 6th.
Public transport is not so easy to come and meet you for a drink in the evenings after work unfortunatly!
Kitty
