Greetings from Ireland

Tootsie has indicated that this thread is about Boston

Should I post this somewhere else? : )

Hi Tootsie, welcome to TP.

This should be posted in the North America forum, but the moderator for this forum should hopefully move it soon.

Well, the first thing you need to know is that you need to have a US relative that will promise to support you-or else you need to have a permanent work visa--or else you have to be one of the first 45,000 or so that apply in order to make this move nowadays.

Other than that, not much to it;--Boston probably has more Irish immigrants per capita than any other major city in the US, so you'll fit right in.

P.S. My great-grandfather was a 11-year old stowaway and came from Galway, Ireland to New York City on a boat called the "Cushlamacree" way back during the Irish potato famine of 1847-1849, so I personally have a great affinity for my fellow Irish friends.
