Information about Greece

Hello guys!

Things are quite tough on mainland Greece. Troubles are on going in Athens and any day could see a big demo there, which might get violent. There are soup kitchens in some areas and people have dumped children onto the streets as they can no longer afford to feed them. While this might be just some places, I would stay be very careful of Athens.

I think the islands are OK and there is a wide choice there, with possibly taking in a number and using ferries between them.

How much money depends on when you go. July and August are expensive with the kids off school. Also a few weeks either side prices go up. It also depends on what kind of accommodation you want and whether you want to eat at expensive places and visit bars nightly.

lowcostholidays has reasonable priced accommodation and hostelbookers is lower end but often not that bad.

How much money? As much as you can, even if you bring most of it back. Take your driving licence in case you decide to hire a car.

Cyprus (south) has some good cruises for 1-3 days. Check them out when there.

Well i think you have great plan, you should visit historical town Athens and as the most travelers wants to visit the greek Islands like Mykonos, Santorinim, Paros, Naxos etc so you should explore these beaches also.

Hi,

I suggest :
- 3 nights in Athens
Athens sightseeing - Full day Delphi -One day 3 island cruise to Aeagina -Poros -Hydra .

- 3 nights in Mykonos
Delos tour

- 3 nights in Paros

- 3 nights in Santorini
Sunset and Oia full day cruise

-4 nights Crete in Agios Nikolaos
Car rental

4 nights in Rhodes
Car rental

4 nights in Kos

1 night in Athens on your last day

You will need at least Euro 2500,00 per person for 3 weeks for accommodation , tickets and transfers.

Amalia
