im Ian and im travelling from uk to Perth at the end of june, ive saved enough and paid for my flight,ive also booked a couple of nights at a local hostel in Perth city centre,thing is im not sure how to get from the airport to there as il be arriving at night?does anyone know if there are taxis,buses etc at night?

Me and the bf are travelling to Perth on 14th June. Not sure we're ready, I feel mentally prepared but not physically. Still need to sell my car and book our first hostel!
Which one have you booked into?
My bf will be looking for labour work, we're hoping it will be quite easy for him. I need to try and find some bar or office work, it'll probably be much harder for me.
We arrive at 4:40am but I believe shuttle buses run to the city centre 24/7. Think we're going to book a private room for the first night though otherwise we'll be waking everyone up during the night. Or does that happen all the time anyway maybe it does?

thanks for your reply,i wouldnt worry about being prepared,i think once your there you just get on with it but i must admit i didnt think of the physical side of it! Im trying to sell my car too its pretty tough at the mo isnt it!
I just booked one online its called ocean backpackers, the reviews sounded ok so thought id just get it done. Thats what im slightly worried about is being able to find work(maybe just used to the uk lol) I would imagine youll be ok finding bar work etc though.
Thanks for info on shuttle bus,thats another problem sorted! Id imagine that people are coming/going all the time in the hostels so wouldnt worry too much about that but if you can find a cheap private room then all the better!
If your still struggling to find a hostel you might want to check out oz intro site, dont know if youve heard of it? but its like a package type thing,might be worth a look?.
If you dont mind me asking how much was your flight and who with?

I am also heading over to perth dont leave till september though wish it was next week, you must be excited!, am in the same boat regarding how easy it will be to find a job i'm hoping as long as your commited it should be ok.
Like Lydia says from what i've read also there will be buses running all day and night into perth from the airport.

hows it goin mate?yes im well excited!dont really know what to expect but cant wait, the time flies honestly youll be there before you know it. I reckon itll be ok with work situation, im just gonna take what i can get as long as its in the sun!
I havent really got a set amount of time il be in Perth for tbh,i just wanted to avoid Sydney until i work out how much everything costs etc..think il be there a good few months though, have you got a plan of where your going?how long are you in Perth for?

I'm probably going to be in perth until early december then head to sydney am only planning on staying there for about 2/3 weeks over the festive period, then head up the east coast thats the rough plan anyway, things could always change though you never know what opportunities could arise.
What about you have you got a rough plan of what your doing?
