16days in japan

hi everyone i,m travelling to Japan in mid November with my girlfriend, we fly into Osaka and out of Tokyo, i could do with some help regards, planning a route, and ideal lengths of stay in each destination, were totally open to idea,s. though we,d like to visit Kyoto and Hiroshima, aswell as a ski destination if possible on the trip... any help would be much appreciated.

My first trip there I bought a Japan rail pass (only available outside Japan) and it came in very handy for getting around, using the bullet train, which was excellent. I decided where I was going the day before, but I suppose the internet has changed such spontaneity.

After a look round Osaka, I would say your first destination should be Hiroshima, then work your way in a generally eastern direction to Tokyo. Not really that much in Tokyo for the tourists, whereas in most capital cities, that is the place to spend most time.

Places like Kyoto which has a tour bus, use them. Subways are handy too for getting around. Press the location you want and then feed in coins till you get your ticket (they give change).

Some ski destinations:

Japan is of course expensive.

hostelbookers has some cheap hotels and such. There is also asiarooms, agoda, hostelworld and the like.

Lots of mini marts about where you can buy sandwiches and drinks at reasonable prices.
