Flight to Cusco for Machu Picchu. A number of local travel agents which can book day tours and onward travel.
Flights are expensive. You may get a cheaper flight from London so maybe a Ryanair flight first? kayak is good for fares. The later flights are booked, the more thy cost.
Try hostelbookers for budget accommodation, including hotels.
Do be careful of pick pockets in SA.
