Budget advice needed! 4 weeks yunnan, vietnam and thailand

I am planning on going travelling in febuary. I will already be in china so i just need advice on how much it would cost me to spend around 4 weeks travelling around yunnan, vietnam and thailand. I am a student so i am quite happy to live on cheap food and stay in cheap rooms but i also want enough money so that i can enjoy myself and maybe splash our here and there on tours etc. any advice would be amazing as i really dont have a clue where to start. also any advice on the best route would also be highly appreciated! thanks!

I reckon the absolute bare minimum for Yunnan is about 5GBP/8USD-ish for food and lodging if you stay in hostel dorms and eat noodles-and-dumplings type fare. The main expense on top of this would be getting around as the distances are quite big. If it was me travelling I'd probably spend £10-20 (15-30USD) per day plus travel. The 'standard' route goes Kunming-Dali-Lijiang-Tiger Leaping Gorge and possibly up to Zhongdian/Shangri-La. All of these places are very worth visiting. Some folk also head down to Xishuangbanna and if you're going to Vietnam overland this is the way to go.

I've not been to Vietnam.

In Thailand it does depend a bit where you go but generally you're going to want to put at least £10/$15 per day on one side, if you're sharing a room, a bit more if you want your own bungalow. £20/$30 plus travel would be comfortable.
